A Multi-Series Drilling Rig Delivery Milestone for Overseas Projects

How the drilling rig manufacturer coordinated recent shipments across truck-mounted, trailer-mounted, and modular skid rig lines for overseas drilling and workover projects.

HuBei SJ Petroleum Machinery Co.Ltd recently delivered a multi-series delivery milestone covering truck-mounted, trailer-mounted, and modular skid rigs for overseas projects. For the drilling rig manufacturer, the significance is not any single unit but the breadth of the shipment: three mounting configurations moving through the factory, testing area, and export packing process in the same production window.

Overseas buyers increasingly combine rig types within one program, for example a fast-mobilization unit for workover campaigns alongside a skid-based unit for a permanent drilling pad. Delivering both from one factory simplifies technical coordination, spare parts, and commissioning support.

Truck-mounted rigs for fast mobilization

The truck-mounted portion of the milestone covers the truck-mounted drilling rig series, where the derrick, drawworks, and power unit are integrated onto a heavy-duty carrier. This configuration suits contractors that move frequently between well sites, because road mobility reduces rig-up time and extra heavy haulage. Workover-oriented units in the same family are widely used for well service programs where pulling efficiency matters more than deep rotary drilling.

Trailer-mounted and modular skid rigs for longer campaigns

The remaining deliveries cover the trailer-mounted drilling rig series and the modular and skid-mounted rig line. Trailer-mounted units balance mobility with larger drilling capacity, while modular skid rigs break down into container-sized modules that fit standard ocean freight and reassemble on a prepared foundation. Both configurations were packaged for export, with components numbered, strapped, and documented for controlled site assembly.

Export support behind every rig

Each delivered rig left the factory with design documentation, operation manuals, and export paperwork prepared for customs clearance. Structural components follow API 4F and API 7K referenced design and testing practice, and the factory quality management references ISO 9001, HSE, and API Q1 systems. For overseas projects, this documentation package is what lets the buyer's engineering and customs teams receive the equipment without repeated requests back to the manufacturer.

Buyers planning similar multi-rig programs are welcome to discuss their fleet configuration early, so production slots and shipping schedules can be coordinated before the order is placed.
