How to Match the XJ550 to Your Project
Routine workover is a loop that repeats dozens of times a year on a mature field — pull the string, treat the well, run it back, rig down and drive to the next location — and on 3500 to 4500 m medium-deep wells, rigging a heavier unit than the loop actually needs burns money on every cycle. The XJ550 truck mounted workover rig is sized squarely for that band: a 4500 m nominal working depth on 73 mm pipe, a 1580 kN static hook load and 550 HP of lifting power, built for conventional overhaul, paraffin removal, plugging removal and wellbore cleaning rather than for ultra-deep fishing. The vertical folding hydraulic mast erects itself without a crane, and the whole integrated unit drives between scattered well points — including mountainous and hilly lease roads — at up to 80 km/h, which is what keeps a scattered well group serviced with one crew.
Tell us, on an XJ550 inquiry, the depth spread of your well group, the heaviest downhole string you expect to pull, and how many times a year the spread relocates. The 1580 kN rating is the practical ceiling for this class — if your programme includes sidetrack deepening or heavy completion pulls above that, the XJ650 or the super-heavy XJ1000 will be the correct step-up, and we will flag it rather than over-size the unit. Because this rig is tuned for frequent migration, also note the worst road condition between pads and whether the site needs the optional wellhead protection or pipe-handling interfaces.
Commissioning support is arranged at your site, and our engineers keep remote diagnostics available after the crew takes over the daily loop.
